iFi Audio - Pro iCAN Signature

The team at iFi Audio introduced the latest Pro iCAN Signature headphone amplifier and stereo preamplifier. This signature version has been upgraded and reengineered from iFi Audio’s reference-class Pro iCAN. The Signature edition builds on the strengths of the original, multi-award-winning Pro iCAN and features even more professional-grade audiophile components designed to take your listening experience to a higher plane than ever before.

The iFi Audio Pro iCAN Signature offers three different playback modes on which you can enjoy your music. When Solid-State circuitry is selected, a J-FET based circuit of fully discrete Class-A topology is in action, offering lively reproduction of music. On switching to Tube mode, the J-FET circuit is switched to the valve Class A section based on two GE5670 chips, offering a warm sound. When Tube is selected, negative feedback is reduced to a minimum for maximum natural harmonic distortion and clean audio. This offers a trade-off between the tube’s natural harmonics and transient performance. All of this is available at the flick of a switch.

The Pro iCAN Signature consists of only high-quality, premium materials. The device has been upgraded to a fully discrete and balanced amplifier audio circuit that operates with full-differential internal signalling. All through the circuit, two separate signals of equal level but opposite polarity are present. Reference class parts from the Japanese Elna Silmics as well as silver mica capacitors are also included within the stylish chassis. There are Panasonic components that help reduce noise floor and are used as capacitors for superior transmission. The device also features ALPS 6-track fully balanced motorised volume control with a servo system for a smooth transition when changing volume.

Experience the massive 14,000mW headphone output power with the Pro iCAN Signature. From the most sensitive CIEMs to the most difficult to drive headphones, Pro iCAN Signature can power them all. With the balanced output, the device is capable of delivering 14,000mW and 4,800mW to single-ended outputs. This offers max performance & delivers the benefits of the balanced connection to single-ended headphones. Pro iCAN Signature is also embedded with variable gain, allowing you to adjust to drive your headphone of choice. It has an adjustable gain from 0dB/9dB/18dB and can output more than 11.5V in single-ended mode. In balanced mode, this amp gives an output of 23V. The device has been upgraded with top of the line iPower Elite offboard AC/DC power supply to eradicate noise and distortion.

The iFi Audio Pro iCAN Signature can be used as a headphone amplifier or preamplifier. As a headphone amplifier, it supports balanced XLR input, RCA input with additional XLR, RCA and iESL on the back panel, and four outputs on the front panel: 4-pin balanced XLR, balanced 4.4, single-ended 6.35 and 3.5mm single-ended. As a preamplifier, it supports balanced XLR input, RCA input, and two outputs: balanced XLR and RCA. The 4.4mm balanced headphone output features the high-quality Pentaconn connector and the 3.5mm headphone output features S balanced technology. It delivers the maximum performance from both single-ended and balanced headphones. To further add to the convenience of users the device comes bundled with an aluminium remote control, allowing for easy connectivity with various devices and accessing frequently used functions without having to reach for the device.
